All Out Endurance can offer testing in Lakewood Ranch, FL. We offer Lactate Run Testing as well as FTP testing for cycling. Below is a brief description of both tests. A Lactate test for cycling is also available and recommended if an athlete is not using a power meter on the bike. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or to make an appointment.

Lactate run testing is performed on a treadmill at our testing lab. It takes 45 min to an hour. You will warm up then start at a prescribed run pace for 4 min. You will then stop and we will use a small lancet (a pin prick similarly used to check blood sugar) on your finger. A blood drop will be dabbed on a meter. Our testing device requires very little blood for a reading. Then you will be put back on the treadmill with an increased pace. Again after 4 min. the process will repeat usually 3 to 6 times until enough data is gathered. This test is not an "all out" test however, it will be a good workout.

No exercise should be performed at least 24 hours prior to this test and you should not have a large meal within 3 hours of the test. At the completion of the test we will provide you a printed list of your running zones that can then be put into your running watch and or training software. A similar procedure is used for testing on a Bike trainer for Lactate bike testing.  Your bike zones will then be provided. Please purchase the test and we will contact you to schedule the test. Power Meter FTP testing              $85.00

A power meter on your bike or bike trainer measures power as a  number (measured in watts) that tells you how much power you are producing while pedaling. Functional Threshold Power (FTP) is the highest average amount of power you can maintain for an hour in race conditions. As you might imagine this test is very hard to perform and the test would be difficult to perform often. A monthly or bi-monthly re-test is recommended to check progress to make sure your current training plan or race plan is realistic. We offer a FTP test performed on the Bike trainer  or on the road on your own bike. The test is completed in about an hour. Depending on the athletes history and level of fitness there are two industry reccognized testing protocols with essentially a warm up, a main session of either 20 or 30 minutes and then a cool down. We will analyze the data and give you a FTP number. This number can then be used in your training and racing to get the most out of your workouts or next race. Please purchace the test. Critical Power Testing (CP) 

We also offer Power Profile Testing. This testing gives a complete look at your individual strengths and weaknesses such as your Critical Power (CP) for 1, 5, 15 second as well as 1, 3, 5, 20, 30, 40 minutes up to 5 hours. Please contact us directly to discuss the testing and your Cycling Goals.
